Boat trips from East pier
Howth.
Irelands Eye is a small picturesque
Island of Howth on the northside of Dublin. It is a
bird sanctuary, hosting many different species of seabirds,
which makes it a place of great interest for nature lovers.
The Island also has a long safe sandy beach, which
is ideal for picnics, swimming and relaxing in the peace
and quiet away from the mainland. The ruins of ST. Nessans
Church dating back to 700 AD and a Martello tower from
the 19th century are also located there for all to explore.
A trip to Irelands Eye is ideal for youth groups,
summer projects, birthday parties for children, walking clubs or indeed any groups.
Children's groups are most welcome once they are supervised
by their group leaders.
Evening trips are available by arangement for
corporate groups and walking clubs etc. Previous
"work nights out" , groups availed of a half
hour boat trip followed by food and drinks in one of
Howths many bars and restaurants.
Fishing trips are available by arrangement also.
Bird watching trips are available for groups which
includes a boat trip around the back of the Island with
spectacular views of the sea stack, home to a colony
of gannets and guillimots. There is a seal colony near
by also.
